Where industry expertise meets technology: Dhanashri’s story

Dhanashri moved from India to Sweden and widened the perspective both at work and in daily life. For her, Swedish 'fika' and punctual transportation define the core of work-life balance.

Real innovation happens when deep industry knowledge and advanced technology skills come together. Dhanashri Parandkar shows how expertise in both areas drives real impact for clients and colleagues - nowadays powered by Swedish 'fika'.

For Dhanashri, a senior technical consultant at Vivicta, success is all about mastering the latest technology and understanding the industries she serves.

“It’s great to learn not only about the technology but also gain domain expertise when working for different industries. I now know quite a bit about how minerals are extracted and how wood is cut and shipped to warehouses.”

Her career at Vivicta began in 2021 in her hometown of Pune, working with Microsoft Dynamics.

“As a student I didn’t know what an ERP system was, but when I was introduced to the MS Dynamics application I was quickly swayed. I really enjoy coding in x++ and Dynamics is a booming technology. With so many updates, I get ample opportunities to learn something every day.”

Industry knowledge in action

Over four years, Dhanashri has worked with clients in various industries, with main focus on mining and forestry. Each new project has deepened her understanding of how different industries operate—and how technology can solve their unique challenges.

“There’s a great opportunity in applying experience from one industry to another. There’s always something to learn from one work process to another. In addition, my colleagues have experience from many other sectors, and I can learn how they apply various solutions and opportunities they are exploring. It’s a great side of working for a big company like Vivicta.”

Getting a thorough understanding by learning

Dhanashri’s passion for technology is matched by her love of learning and problem-solving.

“I really enjoy learning new things on my own. Not that I don’t appreciate the various courses I attend, but there’s something special about diving into a problem on your own and learning how to fix it. Learning by doing, so to speak.”

She also values the opportunity to help customers directly.

“Clients appreciate when I visit them to have a look at their issues firsthand. It gives me a better opportunity to understand the problem thoroughly and thus come up with the best solution.”

From Pune to Stockholm

Moving from India to Sweden brought new perspectives, especially around work culture and daily life.

“You might think that the biggest difference between India and Sweden is the working culture, but for me, the biggest change has to do with punctuality of public transportation, which is on a whole new level here in Sweden. I know that I’ll arrive at the client meeting when the bus is scheduled to be there, which is refreshing.”

Shorter commutes have also improved her work-life balance.

“Ten minutes back and forth to work is great, since I value a balance between work and leisure. I must also say that the work-life balance is much better here in Sweden, and Vivicta prioritizes this genuinely.”

Dhanashri has also come to love another Swedish work-life tradition.

“The concept of “fika” is just brilliant, where you take a pause with your colleagues during the day and enjoy a coffee or tea with something sweet, like a cinnamon bun. I’m used to chai breaks in India, but “fika” is a bigger deal and gives a better opportunity to connect with colleagues.”

A culture of collaboration at Vivicta

Dhanashri thrives in Vivicta’s supportive and collaborative environment.

“The managers support us employees and are available as quickly as you ping them. They’re eager to listen, which creates great involvement. There’s great co-operation between us employees as well—we’re all eager to help one another and learn from each other. It’s a culture I thrive in.”
