Vivicta delivers critical IT separation for IONCOR: Partnership continues

07 July 2026

Vivicta and IONCOR, one of the leading independent battery system suppliers in Europe, have signed a comprehensive IT services agreement covering the delivery and development of IT services. The agreement builds on a separation project in which Vivicta carved out IONCOR’s IT environment from Valmet Automotive Group’s environment within a business-critical timeline.

IONCOR’s launch as an independent company required building a fully separated IT environment and separating critical systems in a way that ensured uninterrupted business operations and production throughout the process.

Vivicta was responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of IONCOR’s new IT environment. The project included separating key IT services, such as the SAP ERP system, from the Group environment, as well as developing new services where separation was not feasible.

“IONCOR’s transition into an independent company was a significant and highly time-critical change. Vivicta demonstrated capability in managing and executing the IT separation in a controlled manner, without disrupting our operations at any point. The new IT environment provides a solid foundation for IONCOR’s growth and development as an independent company,” says Tero Lehtinen, CIO of IONCOR.

The collaboration continues under an IT services agreement that covers IONCOR’s core IT services. Under the agreement, Vivicta is responsible for the development and operation of IONCOR’s IT environment, with modern, scalable cybersecurity services playing a central role.

“IONCOR is an excellent example of a situation where a company needs to separate from a group structure quickly yet in a controlled manner. I would like to thank IONCOR for their trust and close collaboration. For us, it was essential to ensure that the company could start from a strong and secure IT foundation,” says Tero Virtanen, Head of Market Finland at Vivicta.

According to Virtanen, IT-related transformations and separation projects connected to corporate restructurings are a strategically important area of expertise for Vivicta. “We have built a strong operating model and capabilities in this area, enabling us to support our customers comprehensively throughout change, from planning and implementation to continuous development.”

IONCORr’s IT service portfolio includes, capacity and infrastructure services, cybersecurity, end-user services, and services for core business systems such as SAP.
