After four years away, Mats Nyman returned to Vivicta in August 2025—drawn not only by familiar faces but by the opportunity to help customers transform their operations through technology.
Mats describes his comeback to Vivicta was eventually a swift turn as the right opportunity revealed itself.
“As chance would have it, my readiness to come back coincided with a relevant opening at the Örebro office. We started talking on a Friday, and I started in the new job the following Monday.”
Mats began his career at Evry in 2016, playing a key role in the merger with Tieto that formed Tietoevry. Now part of Vivicta, Mats works as a Senior Enterprise Architect, helping customers solve complex business challenges through tailored technology solutions.
“I’m a businessperson more than a tech-guy. My role is to understand how internal processes work, like the flow of purchasing orders from the customer to a warehouse. Making such processes more efficient through technology is my job in a nutshell.”
Vivicta’s approach is rooted in understanding each customer’s unique context and designing solutions that reflect industry best practices. One example is the waste management sector, where Vivicta has helped clients embrace digital transformation.
“Waste management is a somewhat traditional industry that is starting to see the potential in technology and automation. It’s an exciting time to work in this business.”
The shift from simple garbage collection to circular value chains has created new demands for system support.
“It used to be about emptying bins. Now, customers lease containers and get paid for what they put in them. When suppliers are also customers, you need system support on a whole new level.”
This example illustrates how Vivicta combines domain expertise with adaptable technology to deliver solutions that truly resonate with each customer’s business.
Vivicta has strategically chosen Microsoft Dynamics 365 as its core tech suite—but flexibility remains key.
“We can deliver the whole Dynamics suite, but sometimes our customers already have systems in place. We adapt to their needs.”
Mats has seen a shift in how companies approach technology.
“The trend used to be one big system that solved everything. Now it’s more about cherry-picking best-of-breed solutions. We let customer needs guide the technology. Microsoft is easy to integrate with most systems, which is a big plus.”
At Vivicta, culture is both local and global. Mats describes the Örebro office as a close-knit community.
“The 140 people here are like a family. We talk about clients and tech, but also the local football team. Örebro is second to last in the second division, so there’s plenty of frustration to vent during lunch breaks.”
He also collaborates with colleagues in Riga, Pune, and Ostrava.
“We work across borders, and one thing stands out—us seniors are eager to help our younger colleagues. We don’t dump boring tasks on juniors. We share our experience and learn from them too.”
Mats sees Vivicta as a place where careers can flourish.
“The career opportunities are almost limitless. You can switch technologies, roles, or offices. Our size also makes us resilient to market fluctuations.”
But what excites him most is the company’s current phase.
“As a new tech company, we’re seeking a strong impact. If you thrive on change like I do, this is the place to be. It’s more than a new name and logo—we’re shaping a new strategy and future. I’m eager to be part of this journey.”
