Kafka Confluent Senior Architect/Developer

We are looking for a Kafka Confluent Senior Architect to enable customer's application teams to successfully adopt and use streaming technologies on Confluent Cloud.

In this role, you will focus on designing and building reusable platform capabilities, automation, and guidance that make Kafka usage simple, secure, and consistent for developers. Rather than operating infrastructure, your mission is to empower teams by providing well-designed abstractions, self-service tooling, and best practices.
You will design and maintain automation pipelines using Terraform and GitHub Actions to enable self-service provisioning of Kafka resources such as clusters, topics, service accounts, and ACLs.
To support developer adoption, you will build enablement frameworks and platform services including Kafka REST Proxy container-based solutions, FinOps tooling, Kafka topic replication, and audit logging. These capabilities are implemented using Azure-native services such as Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure Monitor, and Apigee, and are seamlessly integrated with the Confluent Cloud platform.
A strong understanding of Azure networking (Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, NSGs, Private Endpoints, and DNS) is required to ensure reliable and secure connectivity, while shielding application teams from unnecessary infrastructure complexity.

You will act as a technical advisor and support contact for internal and external application teams, helping them troubleshoot connectivity and usage issues, guiding them toward best practices, and improving the overall developer experience on the platform.
Since many of the enablement frameworks are implemented in Python, hands-on Python experience is required.
You will also contribute to architecture and design reviews (ADRs), where you help teams make sound architectural decisions and ensure that Kafka-based solutions align with platform standards, scalability, and cost-efficiency goals.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and Confluent Kafka.

• Familiarity with REST and Async API usage and best practices.

• Proficiency in Python scripting.

• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

Useful Skills (Preferred):

• Experience with Apigee platform.

• Familiarity with central logging tools like SPLUNK.

• Experience with API deployment tools such as RA and GitHub.

• Knowledge of Linux OS systems.

• Experience with Linux OS shell scripting.

• Basic skills in Dynatrace monitoring tools.

• Strong teamwork abilities.

• Excellent skills in customer-facing interactions.
